Kendal Mountain Festival Tour 2022

Thursday 16 June 2022

Unleash your adventurous side…

Join us for an evening celebrating adventure from some of the most spectacular places on earth, brought to you by the team behind Kendal Mountain Festival.

You’ll be guided through a curation of short films from across the globe, told by a unique collection of travellers, athletes, activists and creatives.

Alongside the collection of adventure films, will be a talk from the inspiring Richard Parks - a former Wales international rugby union player turned Extreme Environment Athlete who made history by becoming the first person to climb the highest summit on each of the world’s continents and stand on all three poles – South Pole, North Pole and Everest summit – in the same year. An incredible feat, achieved within seven record-setting months.

The evening will be hosted by the Kendal Mountain team.

With thanks to Presenting Partner Cotswold Outdoor.

Keep an eye out for updates about the 2022 Tour Films!

Introducing our Tour films...

Director: Matt Pycroft

Tom Randall is a world-class crack climber. He is also a terrible runner, which is why his latest challenge seems like an odd choice. He decided to link up two of the Lake District's biggest and toughest endurance challenges, the Bob Graham Round and The Classic Rock challenge into one hellish 24-hour mad dash. A funny, honest, genuine and heartfelt story.

Director: Alice Ward

A female led production featuring the surf community on the west coast of Ireland and shining a spotlight on its creative community. Enjoy the mystical relationship these women have with the power and magnitude of the Atlantic Oceanâs surf.

Director: Faith E. Briggs

Vasu is not seeking to inspire you to feel good. His trauma doesn't exist solely to benefit the education of others. He is seeking to inspire you to move mountains. To take action. Skiing is the method, but the real mountains are the 'isms' that fail to support Disabled communities, communities of colour and so many others for whom access has not been a right.

Director: Max Romey

Inspired by a picture book, Max Romey heads to a remote beach on Alaska's coastline in search of marine debris. What he finds is a different story altogether.

Director: Richard Sidey

Wingsuit BASE jumping is often presented as a thrill-seeking adrenaline rush. Spellbound takes us deeper into the more contemplative aspects of jumping, as David Walden and friends venture into the mountains around his home in New Zealand.

Director: Guen Murroni

Meet Stormskater, a London based roller-skater who started skating by picking up tips and techniques from other skaters in different spots in the city. She gives us insight into the increasingly popular sport, its community, appropriation, ownership, authenticity and the fundamental need for space.

Director: Graham Zimmerman

Zimmerman's climb of one of the world's most challenging unclimbed peaks in the mountains of Pakistan - resulting in a Piolet D'Or award.

Director: Elliot Wilkinson-Ray

The story of three best friends and riding partners. A mix of lighthearted fun moments with high alpine MTB action.

Director: Michael James Brown

An unusual and beautiful short film following 'The Farmer' who spends his winters harvesting one of the most precious crops on earth: Powder.
